Galatians 4:4-5 – “But when the fulness of time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” -King James Bible


I. Man’s problem:Isaiah 64:6 – This verse teaches that every man, woman, boy and girl since Adam can never please God, because of sin. WHY?
     A.) Sin -- separates us from God
          1.) Isaiah 59:2 – “But your iniquities [sins] have separated between you and your God and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”
               a.) God expects every person to be perfect and sinless to stand before him.
               b.) God will hear every person’s prayers to him if you are perfect as he is perfect. 
               c.) Because of God’s holiness and our sinful state, God will not change his rules for us... we must change: also known as "repentance".
     B.) Short – Our state of being
          1.) Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
               a.) Sin’s “snowball effect” (what am I trying to say? – snowball...?) -- Man’s sin separates him from God his maker. But when man tries to do good to earn God’s favour then James 2:10 kicks in: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
               b.) Man finds that God’s law keeps working against him to the point that he is in a checkmate. (Remember when you have played chess and you ended up in a checkmate? How did you feel? Helpless, hopeless, defeated and doomed?)
                    aa.) This is the case with everyone who has been born: to be doomed in a checkmate with the sentence of everlasting fire and torment. (see Matthew 25:41 & Luke 16:24) 
          2.) Doomed by sin: this is man’s problem; and it’s your problem, too.
               a.) This is the Bad News but do you want to hear the Good News now?
 
II. Messiah’s Salvation Plan: Galatians 4:4-5 – This verse teaches God’s plan of redemption [rescue] for man.
     A.) Sent: “...God sent forth his son... to redeem them that were under the law...”
          1.) Hebrews 10:4-7 (see also: Psalms 40:6-8 & Isaiah 1:11) Jesus volunteered to come to earth to be the sacrificial body necessary to pay for our sins.
          2.) Hebrews 10:9 – God came to earth, in the person and body of Jesus, to do away with the Old Covenant (of the law) and replace it with the New Covenant (of God: the giving of himself to pay for man’s sin debt).
          3.) Hebrews 10:10 – The death of Jesus’ body on the cross, which was the sacrifice to God for our sins, sanctifies [separates] us unto God; whereas, sin separates us from God.
          4.) Hebrews 10:11 – The old sacrificial system had to be continually repeated but:
               a.) Hebrews 10:12, 14 – Teaches that Christ had to be offered as a sacrifice only once for our sins.
     B.) Settled: Jesus’ Crucifixion completed God’s law concerning sin’s death penalty: (see I Peter 3:18) 1.) I Corinthians 15:4 – Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection from the dead paid 100% of our sin debt.  

III. Musings on Christ: 
     A.) See: Luke 23:1 – 24:12
     B.) Christ reminded and reassured his disciples, and us, of his completed work of salvation on our behalf.
          1.) See also Luke 24:44-47.
 
IV. Mechanical? 
     A.) So, is everyone now automatically saved like machine-work? Has everyone been made acceptable before God because Christ paid mankind’s sin debt?
          1.) Jesus’ answer to this is found in Matthew 25:32-34; 45-46.
          2.) See also: Revelation 20:12, 15. 
     B.) What is your responsibility to God? (What does “responsibility” mean? – This word comes from the Latin word “responsus” which means: to give account, to be answerable for what you know or possess, or to give repayment for a debt).
          1.) See Isaiah 1:18 – “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”
                a.) To “reason together” requires communication. By your seeing this message of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection, God has communicated to you his point of view on the matter of your sin.
                b.) Your responsibility, or response for what you have seen, is your way of reasoning with God. God is holy and needs no changing.
                c.) The only way to reason with God is to agree with him that you are in a “checkmate” and to receive Jesus’ sacrifice of himself for forgiveness of your sins.


        Bow your head and pray to the Heavenly Father:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I agree with you that I am a sinner and on my way to a devil's hell; I believe that the only way I can be forgiven of my sins is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, that you were born of the virgin Mary who conceived by the Holy Ghost having overshadowed her, that you lived a perfect life, that you suffered and died on a Roman cross bearing my sins; that dying in my place and being raised by your own self from the dead that I am forever justified from the condemnation that was previously upon me. I now repent of all previous efforts to "get to heaven" and place my sole trust and hope of eternal life in Jesus Christ and him alone. Fill me with your promised Holy Ghost that I may have the power of God to live for you and, if it is your will for me, to die as a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ in whatsoever country I dwell in; that by my testimony of Christ's great promise "all who call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" my fellow countrymen may receive the forgiveness of sins that all other religions promise but cannot grant because I believe what you, Lord Jesus, said in John 14:6 - "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh to the Father, but by me." Thank you for saving from my sin and making me a child of the Living God... Amen!"


       Friend, THE MERE SPEAKING OF EMPTY WORDS CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU but if you prayed the above prayer, or something similar to it... believing that Jesus Christ is God  who came to earth to be your sin sacrifice, who is also in heaven right now praying for you to become a child of the King then based on the the authority of Bible, God's only revealed word to mankind, you can rejoice that you are saved from the wrath of God (which was poured out on his Son Jesus Christ... the just dying for the unjust to bring us to God:) "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:" I Peter 3:18 -KJV.

         that you have agreed with God and received Jesus' shed blood, death, burial and resurrection from the dead to pay for your sins that we may rejoice with you and get some much needed and helpful Bible studies into your possession that you may "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." - II Peter 3:18 - KJV; and "That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;" - Colossians 1:10 - King James Bible.
